This policy explains what personal data Chester Wedding DJs ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use chesterweddingdjs.co.uk, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have — including how to manage the cookies we use.
Chester Wedding DJs is a wedding and event DJ business based in Handbridge, Chester, Cheshire, serving couples across Chester, Cheshire, North Wales and the wider North West. For the purposes of data protection law, Chester Wedding DJs is the "controller" of the personal data described in this policy.
You can contact us about anything in this policy using the details in Section 11.
We collect personal data in two ways: directly from you, and automatically as you browse.
When you fill in a contact, consultation, or availability-check form on this site, we collect:
With your consent (see Section 4), we and Google collect standard analytics and advertising data such as pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP address), device/browser type, and how you arrived at the site (including whether you clicked a Google Ad).
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Form submissions (name, contact details, event info) | To respond to your enquiry, provide a quote or free consultation, and — if you book us — to plan and deliver our services for your event | Legitimate interest in responding to enquiries; performance of a contract once you book |
| Analytics data (Google Analytics) | To understand how visitors use the site and improve it | Consent |
| Advertising data (Google Ads) | To measure whether our ad campaigns lead to real enquiries, and avoid wasting ad spend on ineffective campaigns | Consent |
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any reason.
When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you're happy for us to use analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, those cookies stay switched off — only the strictly necessary items below are used, and the site works exactly the same either way.

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) on every page, regardless of your cookie choice. Loading a font file involves a request to Google's servers, which can see the requesting IP address, in the same way any web request does — no advertising or analytics cookie is set by this. Form submissions are also processed by a third party, Formspree — see Section 5.
We don't share your data with anyone else.
Formspree and Google are based in the United States and may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they provide appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.
We keep enquiry information for as long as necessary to respond to you and, if you book us, to plan and deliver your event — after which we delete or anonymise it, unless we're required to keep it longer (for example, for tax/accounting records). Analytics data held by Google is retained according to Google's own data retention settings for our account.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
This site is intended for adults planning a wedding or event, and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new analytics or advertising tool. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top when we do. If the change is significant, we may also ask for your cookie consent again.
For any question about this policy or your personal data, call us on 07703 859679, or use the contact form on our homepage.
You can change your mind about analytics/advertising cookies at any time. Clicking the button below will clear your current choice and show the cookie banner again next time the page loads.
